Sometimes after using the best router also Wi-Fi signal is very weak. There might be various reasons behind this problem.

This article will summarize some simple steps to boost the Wi-Fi signal.

To identify the problem affecting the Wi-Fi speed, one can use the wireless network analyzer, which helps the user to track the problem. The device which might be creating a problem is like security alarms, cordless phones, television remote control, etc.

Changing the channel- Wi-Fi problem might be due to the various routers available on the same channel. Routers can be used on series of channels ranging between 1 to 11. Try to change the channel of the router where there are fewer routers available.

Router network broadcast mode- Now the router is available with the new broadcast mode i.e. 802.11n, it offers greater signal strength.

Sometimes the problem occurs due to the position of the router. Relocating the router solves the problem up to great extent.

Try to locate the router at the centre of the house.

Always avoid keeping any metal object near to the router. Metal objects affect the signal strength very much.

To increase the effective broadcast range, raise the router as far as possible.

Always keep the router away from the neighbor’s router. Try to use the channel which is not used by anyone.

Upgrade the router- Upgrading the router is very important for better working efficiency of router.

If your router is of new model, try to replace its antenna with a new model that delivers more power.

Repeater- Repeater is used to boost the signal strength coming from the router. Nowadays wireless repeater has great demand in the market.
